A&W's Century-Long Legacy Celebrated with Free Root Beer Floats for Centenarians

A&W Celebrates 105th Birthday with Free Root Beer Floats for Centenarians

In June 1919, Roy W. Allen, co-founder of A&W, opened his first Root Beer stand in Lodi, California, during a homecoming celebration for World War I veterans. Today, A&W remains America’s oldest franchised restaurant chain and is marking its 105th birthday with a special offer.

To honor this milestone, A&W is providing free Root Beer Floats for life to everyone over 100 years old. This offer is A&W’s way of showing gratitude to its fans who have supported the brand for over a century.

Eligible centenarians can visit any US A&W location to enjoy a complimentary Root Beer Float, made with A&W’s signature Made Fresh Root Beer and creamy vanilla soft serve, indefinitely.
